Abaana Rural Outreach Ministries (AROM)  Or Abaana Ba Uganda is a voluntary, non-profit making, non-governmental community based, union and a consortium organization whose operational areas are in Mityana and Masaka/Lwengo districts. This union and consortium unites two Organisation; CHILDLINE UGANDA and COMMUNITY OUTREACH AFRICA. Abaana Rural Outreach Ministries (AROM) based both in The Ohio State University in the USA as well as in Mityana Uganda. the corsotium is dedicated to  support communities infected or affected by HIV/AIDS through the fullest implementation of social, economic rights of all these marginalized or affected communities.

People: 
All kinds of people who are interested in serving those in need are welcome; all participants must be 18+ years of age and above.
Commitment: 
Minimal commitment should be 2 weeks Skills:
Skills: 
no specific skills are required, as all skills can be utilized and put into good use. English language is prefered, all the people that will be working with the volunteers can speak English. However most of the clients in the field may not be able to communicate in English, and in such cases staff act as translators
Type: 
•working with orphans, HIV positive children and women, deaf children, youth and adults •Arranging lessons or sessions and games for the children. •Community Outreaches and volunteers must be ready for a very fragile community (changing characters) •playing and interacting with children including those living with HIV/AIDS •organizing workshops pertaining independent living and life skills •organizing self empowerment workshops, entrepreneurship and income generating skills workshops for groups like women, youth and orphans •Educational workshops on health issues like nutrition, hygiene and sanitation, family planning , HIV/AIDS and many more • Provide home based support visits for these orphans and vulnerable children and HIV positive women. • Provide school based support visits for the orphans and vulnerable children • educating the caregivers and communities on the rights of the children • educating the communities on the issues concerning domestic violence •fundraising for the different programmes of the member organisations .Research on the tide of human rights and abuses in the community, working with community leaders
Money: 
1 week- USD$100 2 weeks-USD$200 3 weeks- USD$300 4 weeks- USD$350 Program fees covers: •Pre-service (e.g. culture, health talk, program orientation, training and many more •Accommodation, Laundry and food during placement with a host family or volunteer house (3 meals a day) •Transportation to the member site from Abaana Rural Outreach Ministries base in Mityana to Masaka and Mityana as well. •Regular follow up support •Support for local staff and volunteers The program fees can be paid upon arrival or before departure for proper preparations of your placement. Additional Fees: USD$ 70 Airport pickup for arrival paid upon arrival. When a volunteer arrives in Uganda, our Coordinator meets them at the airport and brings them to our office in Mityana . From that point our volunteers spend between 1 to 3 days in our orientation program. This training provides volunteers with a very detailed understanding of how to be acquainted in Uganda's Life and culture. The program fee excludes the following: •Airfare, Visa and Visa extension fee •Transportation during weekends travel •Personal travel and sightseeing (trekking, jungle safari etc); •Internet access, telephone, drinks or other costs accrued during training and placement; •Gifts to project staff and host family, if you wish to buy any; • Should you wish to spend more time in Uganda pre and post placement period, please remember to budget accordingly! •Travel and medical insurances, immunization, health expenses; •You will also need a weekly budget of up to US $50-100 to cater for all your other expenses.
