Parismina Turtles; Asociacion Salvemos Las Tortugas De Parismina, based in Barra de Parismina, on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, at the mouth of the Parismina River. Volunteers (needed mid-Feb to October) go on night patrol, safeguard hatchlings from predators and clear the path as they begin their first journey to the ocean. Participate in a weekly beach clean-up and community projects such as teaching English, crafts, gardening etc. Also opportunities for people with business skills, fundraising, marketing, networking etc. Homestays are on the pricey side, cheaper options for longterm volunteers.
