Kalyan Bowl of Compassion Restaurant and School (the school/hostel is also referred to as Charity Backpackers) takes care of about 100 local street kids, giving them an education, clothes, and a daily lunch program. The cafe is on the main street in town and easy to ride. From here you can get a nice meal, information, and directions to the school and guesthouse where volunteers stay. It is just a bit outside town in the village area of Tika Bigha. My Murari Kalyan is the director. While we at Bowl of Compassion, he and his wife Rita, plus all the local teachers made us feel very at home and part of the family. This is a young project and it needs your help! Bihar is one of the poorest and least educated parts of India. Donations are appreciated also as the school is still growing!
