A world in which all youths realize their full potential in societies that respect people’s rights and dignity

Identity statement

Spice Youth International is a non-governmental, not-for-profit association, working in Cameroon working with children/youths, parents, government and intergovernmental bodies in the promotion of community welfare. It works to identify the needs of the child especially the rural child/youths, the underprivileged and the weaker section of the society through participatory approaches.

Mission statement

SYI’s mission is to promote education, health, livelihoods and microfinance, and building relationships for children, their families and the communities in which they live.

 

Core values

-          Diversity: Recognising that there is strength in plurality, SYI will respect the diversity of the people (staff, volunteers, community members, sponsors, and local authorities) working to fulfil its objectives and mission. It is committed to the equality of opportunity for all and to respect for difference.

-          Collaboration: Recognising that effective, responsive and accountable interventions requires the inputs of all stakeholders, SYI will share the learning generated by its programmes. It is committed to inspiring dialogue, promoting consultations, building consensus, facilitating convergence, forging partnerships and engaging diverse stakeholders in its interventions.

-          Integrity: SYI is committed to demonstrating accountability to its stakeholders. It pursues its mission with commitment, discipline and rigour.

Objectives

The main objective is to develop leadership and entrepreneur skills, through engaging trainings that instruct,

 motivate and advance young people intellectually.

 

. More specifically, SYI seeks to:

·         Promote global access to education for every youth.

 

·         Promote sustainable health education and practices for young people, their families and communities.

 

·         Reduce HIV AIDS transmission and malaria in children, young people and families.

 

·         Increase global access to safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene services.

 

·         Foster environmental education and awareness among youths and in our communities.

 

·         Raise platforms for acquisition of leadership and entrepreneurship skills by young people.
