A Lao School with International Approach.

After some initial field research in Vientiane and provinces of Laos, 21 years ago, a volunteer from the Neo-humanist Foundation of Thailand and Ananda Marga concluded that a project in the education sector, especially to introduce progressive educational methods and improve the over-all quality of education, would be a great service to the country. With her initiative and the help of friends, sympathizers and NGOs, Sunshine School was born. In the beginning the founder struggled to train the teachers with the funds she received from NGOs and materials given to her from abroad. Now, the school covers its running and maintenance costs and can provide a living allowance for the volunteer director. For the yearly improvement and expansion, however, the school still seeks funding from local NGOs and friends around the world.
