People:
Our volunteers must be flexible, physically capable, community-minded, open to new ways of doing things and at least 18 years old. Our mission is to train people to be effective community service leaders in developing countries through study, practical application, and immersion focusing on the effects of climate change, sustainability, and fighting shoulder-to-shoulder with The Poor.
Our program is community-based. We all farm, work, learn, volunteer, clean, celebrate and live together. There is a huge cultural exchange at our training program. Right now, we have about 30 people from close to 20 different countries (the common language is English). Living in this kind of community can be enriching and challenging. Volunteers should be prepared for this. We live in the lush rural greenery of an un-touristy Caribbean island too, which is a plus! The sunsets here are to die for. We are always excited to receive new volunteers.
